Timber Pest Inspections
A thorough inspection for evidence of termites, borers, and other timber pests.
Timber pest damage is often hidden from plain sight and can be extensive by the time it becomes visible. Whether you are purchasing a property or maintaining your current home, identifying pest activity or high-risk conditions early can save you from significant and costly repairs down the track.
Timber Pest Inspections
Conducted in accordance with AS-4349.3. A thorough inspection for evidence of termites, borers, and other timber pests. We assess accessible areas for current activity, damage and conditions conducive to pest infestation, providing practical recommendations to protect the property and avoid costly repairs.
Local risk factors
Central Victoria’s climate and housing styles can create ideal conditions for termites and other timber pests. From older weatherboard homes to newer timber-framed properties, many buildings are vulnerable to concealed timber pest activity, particularly within subfloor areas, roof voids and damp or poorly ventilated spaces.
What a Timber Pest Inspection covers:
A timber pest inspection involves a thorough assessment of the property for evidence of termites, wood borers, fungal decay and conditions that may increase the risk of future infestation or timber damage. Interior areas such as walls, skirting boards, door frames and accessible structural timbers are inspected, along with external elements including window frames, cladding, eaves, garden edging and surrounding site conditions. If an infestation is found, you can share the detailed report with a Pest Control Technician.
High-risk areas
Roof voids and subfloor spaces receive particular attention due to their high risk for concealed pest activity, moisture issues and timber decay. Moisture detection equipment and thermal imaging technology may also be used where required to assist in identifying hidden concerns.
Reporting
All findings are compiled into a clear and easy-to-understand digital report containing photographs, identified defects, conducive conditions and recommendations for further action or treatment where necessary.
Standards & Compliance
Timber pest inspections are carried out in accordance with Australian Standard AS 4349.3, ensuring consistent, professional and reliable reporting.
